Living Streets Design

Resource Consent Granted 2013

“We have built on the area’s existing assets and potential strengths to set the overarching intent and objective for high quality Urban Design.”

Urbanlogic was appointed as the Urban Designers and Landscape Architects for Auckland's first residential development designed around the living streets concept for 65 terrace 2 storey houses, all overlooking the restored and managed natural bush.

Urbanlogic's living street design is primarily with the interests of residents in mind and as a social space where people can meet and where children are able to play safely.

These streets are still available for use by vehicles, however our design aims to reduce both the speed and dominance of vehicles with greatly reduced demarcations between vehicle traffic and pedestrians. Vehicle parking as also be restricted to designated bays.
