Urban Design

“Ground breaking 200 household village, based around sustainable development principles. ”

The development of a small (200 house) peri-urban development in a traditional village form, is challenging conventional approaches to rural land development. The 90ha rural lot is being developed both with housing, a commercial mainstreet, market square, and also economically viable land uses.

Urbanlogic’s Director at the time was the project manager, concept and technical designer responsible for the development and delivery of an integrated urban design and landscape design framework and masterplan from sharedspace village squares to the layout of the urban form for a private-plan change for a ground- breaking 200 household village, based around sustainable development principles.

This incorporates a productive land development strategy and sustainable engineering and design approaches that are driving a new approach to periurban development in the wider city
